Mexican Food Descriptions

CHALUPAS (Chah-lu-paz) – Flat tortillas with fried beans, cheese, topped
with guacamole salad.
CHILE RELLENOS – Ground beef, cheese and a piece of bell pepper.
CHIMA CHANGA – Beef tips in a flour tortilla, soft or deep fried, with melted
white cheese.
ENCHILADAS (En-chee-lad-dahs) – Corn Tortillas rolled around seasoned
fillings with sauce and cheese.
QUESADILLA – Flour tortilla folded, stuffed with white cheese and grilled.
GUACAMOLE (Guahka-mo-lay) – Avocado topping.
MEXICAN CHILE RELLENO – Fried Anaheim peppers stuffed with
cheese covered with beaten eggs.
NACHOS – Melted cheese with Jalapeno peppers in crispy tortillas.
TACOS (Tah-kos) – Tortillas, folded and fried crisp, filled with meat, lettuce, cheese.
TAMALES (Tah-mah-lays) – Savory meat fillings steamed in corn meal casings.
TAQUITOS (Tah-kee-tos) – Corn Tortillas wrapped around chicken or
shredded beef and fried crispy.
TORTILLAS (Tor-tea-yahs)-Thin corn or flour bread used as a base
for many dishes.
TOSTADA – Crispy corn tortillas with beans, meat, lettuce and tomato.
